Who We Are
Broad Solutions Limited is a boutique consulting company based in Auckland, New Zealand. We specialise in supporting and enabling energy sector operations, trading, investments, hedging, strategy and planning through the use of mathematical modelling and optimisation. Our clients include generators, retailers, distributors, system operators and regulators.
We’re a team of 7 with science, commercial and engineering qualifications, and a particular focus on optimisation and operations research (fundamental to electricity market methodologies and tools).
We have specialist skills in the use of PLEXOS and similar models for market forecasting.
As well as providing insights, analysis and educational workshops relating to both the New Zealand and Australia electricity markets, we also work with partners throughout APAC.
We offer assurance services, providing confidence on technical business cases and in-house model developments, and due diligence support for energy market-related acquisitions and investments.

The policy evaluation and development work we undertook provided key customer experience, finance and regulatory insights.
LPG shipping and distribution planning
The value of new storage options versus import and export shipments is now being evaluated by our client using our LPG logistics tool.

Having successfully designed and overseen the development of energy forecast post-processing tools and an auditable database back-end, we’re now extending and integrating advanced risk management software for our client
